MAN Roland Awards Two Scholarships to NAPL & PIA/GATF

Aditya Chinai, of King Printing Co. and Paul J.
Thiem, of Berlin Industries, receive full scholarships
to the leadership and management development program,
slated for June 8-12, 2004, in suburban Milwaukee.
PARAMUS, N.J., MAY 26, 2004 – As part of its ongoing
commitment to furthering education in the graphic communications
industry, MAN Roland has awarded the following scholarships
to the upcoming NAPL and PIA/GATF Management & Leadership
Institute:
- Aditya Chinai, joint manager
director of King Printing Co., Inc., Lowell , Mass. ,
has earned the MAN Roland Larry Perkins Scholarship to
the Institute's Graphic Communications Management course.
- Paul J. Thiem, manager of Estimating, Berlin
Industries, Carol Stream , Ill. , was awarded the MAN
Roland Harry V. Quadracci Scholarship and will participate
in the program's Financial Management course.
In announcing the winners, Christian Cerfontaine, Director
of Marketing of MAN Roland Inc., noted that “Aditya
and Paul exhibit the kind of energy and enthusiasm for
learning that will help drive the graphic communications
industry forward. It is with great pleasure that we award
them these scholarships.”
In his application, Chinai of King Printing, a book manufacturer
with 100 employees, noted that attending the Institute
would give him “an edge” by helping him to
“learn the theory behind what I see. . .I know this
training will open my eyes to fresh and innovative ideas
that I can implement in real-time in managing my print
shop.”
Thiem, who has enjoyed a successful tenure at Berlin Industries
since joining the commercial printing company in 1997,
views the Institute as a valuable “opportunity to
join an elite group of educators who can provide me with
valuable information and teachings that will help me excel
in the career I have chosen.”
Competition for the MAN Roland scholarships, which provide
full tuition for the Management & Leadership Institute
($1,995 for NAPL and PIA/GATF members) and a $500 accommodations
stipend, was open to employees of member companies of
NAPL and PIA/GATF. This year's Institute marks the first
time that the National Association for Printing Leadership
(NAPL) and the Printing Industries of America (PIA) /
Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) will offer their
well-respected leadership and management development programs
concurrently.
